Laurel sucks as a character, and Katie Cassidy can't act.

The new season has been pretty sharp so far. The show is a little overkill with aping Batman Begins though.

I agree with you on Laurel, she is a headache. I just realized Cassidy plays Laurel(lol.

But it caught me by surprise when they brought up the League of Assassins( thought that was Batman)

I really, really need to catch up on Boardwalk Empire. I've only seen the season premiere, but I figure this late I might as well wait until it's finished and marathon the whole season.

Other than that I've been watching a lot of The X-Files lately. Still love it. I had forgotten just how good some of its monster of the week episodes can be. The mythology episodes are still kind of hit and miss for me. Some are really, really good, while others don't do much more than make me thankful when it returns to monster of the week.

I've been watching Agents of SHIELD.

95% of my reason for watching this is the off chance they actually have some cool thing related to the Marvel universe. So far they had a Samuel L. Jackson after-credits cameo for like two minutes. I'm beginning to think this might not be worth it.

I saw the first episode and thought it was OK, but couldn't finish the second episode. I couldn't find the show interesting at all; it was such a bland network TV show that had next to nothing to do with actual superheroics.

The second episode is probably the worst one. "Bland network TV show" describes it pretty well, though it has its moments and it's only been going upward in quality, barring that second episode.

The Walking Dead: Solid and steady so far. Despite some lousy writing here and there, it's proving to have a strong first half. However, I'm still cautious on the ball being dropped sooner or later.

Boardwalk Empire: With only two episodes left, the fourth season is well on its way into becoming the best in the series. The last three weeks have consisted of some truly great television. It seriously stepped up its game. If you're behind, catch up ASAP.

I think its been getting better but still has a LOT of room for improvement. I hope it all comes to connect with the world in a satisfying way by the end of the season, or I'm done with it for any future seasons.

I'm re-watching Fringe.

Started Mystery Science Theater 3000, not sure if it goes here or movies though. Watched random episode, the first one that finished first, Hobgoblins, I got a lot of genuine laughs, so I'm excited to watch the remainder.

Latest Sons of Anarchy: I have tried so hard to meet Tara half way this year, and I can't do it. I can't do it.

Been watching more Doctor Who, finished season 5. Great first run by Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor. I love how The Doctor's new incarnation is essentially a giant genius manchild still capable of emotional moments when the time calls for it. This scene alone sold me on Smith;

I have no idea what is going on in that scene. Like, at all.

Newsflash: Random 3 minute scenes from a 13 episode season, 12+ hour TV program tend to not make sense when taken out of context.

I posted it just to illustrate how well of a job Matt Smith does playing the Doctor. Even without an understanding of what is going on, his delivery is simply on point.

Start with season 5. It's the most recent iteration of Doctor Who which acts as a soft reboot season, so you don't have to know much about what happened before that point. That and the production values are light years ahead of the previous seasons, so there are minimial barriers visually to pull you out of it. If you do end up liking it, watch it from the beginning (Eccleston/Ninth Doctor) and on. There are some outstanding stuff in seasons 1-4.
